THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!

*A big thank you to Lisa Peterson and Jackie Leatherman for helping with the in-school sales for the Carnival and to Rich Spratt. We inadvertently left their names off of the Carnival Report.

*Many thanks to Julie Traylor for organizing the Last Day of School Celebration! We will be asking for help to run games/set up/clean up. Look for a sign up in May.

*Thank you Crystal Rehbine for organizing both fall and spring dinners for our teachers during conferences.

POPCORN FRIDAYS

Many classrooms have earned Friday Popcorn Parties this year. The PTA ran this new program with help from the following parents who generously donated their time to pop the popcorn.             Thank you!

FUNDRAISING

Thank you everyone who sold and bought Butter Braids! We made $4500 on this fundraiser. This money will be set aside to pay for classroom needs at the beginning of next year. Do you have ideas on how the money should be spent? Join the PTA and be a partner in supporting our school!

CLASSROOM GUEST SPEAKERS

A new PTA program brought guest speakers to every grade level. These presentations supported the curriculum and helped bring learning to life without leaving the classroom. Each grade level chose the best presentation(s) for their students.

 

K: Como Zoo Keeper and Penguin

1: Puppeteer presentation with puppet-making by students.

2: Science Museum assembly on solids, liquids, and gases and small group session on the water cycle.

3: Harriet Bishop Actor from History Center and a presentation on sound and light from The Works Museum.

4: Harriet Bishop Actor from the MN History Center, Frederick McKinley Jones Actor from the MN History Center and a presentation on engineering feats and famous engineers from the Science Museum.

5: Frederick McKinley Jones Actor from the MN History Center and a Bell Museum presentation on pollination.

6: Science Museum presentation on Matter. Wargo Nature center presentation on buffalo, and a Civil War speaker from the Minnesota History Center.
