What is a MakerSpace?
The MakerSpace room
  • allows for large-scale collaboration and exploration
  • promotes hands-on learning in these areas: art, coding, circuitry, building, and motion and energy
  • creates the intrinsic belief that all students are innovative and resourceful

Why is it good for kids?

  • Maker students identify their own challenges and solve new problems.
  • Making fosters character-building traits like grit, curiosity, persistence, social responsibility, and team work.
Learning through the MakerSpace, as well as in the traditional classroom,
will allow our students to express a deeper understanding of the curriculum. It will create
the context that develops the Maker mindset, a growth mindset, that encourages us to
believe that we can learn to do anything.
